Melding consists of displaying specific combinations of cards to all players. All players meld in turn after the bid winner shows melds first. The types of melds includes runs, arounds, marriages and pinochles. Any one card may be used in only one meld of each type. Thus a queen can be used in only one marriage with one king, even if the player has the other king. That same queen, however can also be used in a Pinochle if the player also has the correct jack.
