The goal of Hearts is to be the player with the fewest points. Points are awarded at the end of every hand until a player reaches 100 points and the game is over. At that point, whoever has the least points wins.
If a player wins a pile containing Hearts or the Queen of Spades the player adds points to their score. Each Heart is worth 1 point while the Queen of Spades is worth a whopping 13 points.
Since there are 13 Hearts and 1 Queen of Spades in a regular deck, there are 26 points in each hand. If someone takes all the points then they shoot the moon and their opponents each receive 26 pts instead.
